Lowes in Roanoke, Virginia - Lowe's laminate countertop order wrong in every way

We ordered laminate countertops from Lowe's Home Improvement of Christiansburg and when the came in everything was wrong. Several measurements were off. Some of the backsplashes were not at a 180 degree angle, one backsplash was missing, and some were warped. One the second order of the one without the backsplash, it came in again WITHOUT a backsplash. My husband agreed to accept 5 of the 6 pieces with a discount, but wishes he hadn't since they don't fit together at the seam evenly. After my husband drove out to pick up the reorder and found it wrong, he asked that Lowe's deliver it free, and they accepted. However, we wish that we had never done business with the incompetant people providing these countertops. Apparently Lowe's puts in the order, one company makes the countertops, and one cuts them. This obviously makes many errors along the way from all parties.

Lowes in Reston, Virginia - Seems to me

Everyone on this site seems to be a Yank. It just aggravtes me to have to go out in public and listen to the whinning and complaining. Use a little patients and don't expect everyone to know exactly what you do. We all learn something new everyday. So keep your jerkness at home. We know the dog wouldn't play with you up home and maybe you should go back and try again. It's all been messed up where you came from, that's why you're here, and now it's fastly becoming more and more intolerable here.

How about before we criticize others, we learn basic spelling...or at least utilize our spell-check feature...? Sorry, just another pet peeve I have with others who take joy in putting other people down.

:cry Seems to me that you are the one whining now. In addition, *** "patients" in this context is spelled "patience".

There was a reason we won the war and you prove it everyday. :grin :roll

Lowes in Virginia Beach, Virginia - Failed to provide professional warranty service

Lowes warranty service consist of 2 visits in 2 weeks ,2 calls, another 7 days for delivery of parts ,and another 5 to 7 days to install parts. total of 28 days to fix a front loader dryer purchased 9 months ago. this is the warranty service that LOWES is happy to sale to you @ $139.00 .. MY ADVISE dont buy appliances from LOWES if they cant honor the warranty the proffessional way. you will be better off having your LOCAL appliance repairman fix it in 2 days then to have lowes' fix it within 30 days. save your money.dont buy your appliances at lowes, and surely dont pay for the warranty or extend it. go to a proffessional appliance store.

Wait a minute....if it was purchases 9 months ago it's still covered on the manufactor warranty. Not the EPP.

Your local guy can fix it then.

He will then charge the call to the vendor. Sorry for the inconvience.

Lowes couer d alene carpet installation

let me start by saying we have spent in excess of $5,000 with lowes in the past 3 years. The most recent was carpet installed 2 years ago by a installer who doesn't work for them any longer.1 year ago we complained the carpet was loose, they sent out a guy to fix it.(he said it was a poor install)now they want to charge us for stretching the carpet again and won't discuss any other resolve. At this point I think I want it all torn out and replaced and sue lowes.I won't shop there again.I hate home desperate but that may be where i have to go.

wait, are you complaining about something that happened a year ago? Seems a little late for whining now.

People can't just keep coming to your house fixing your *** for you for free. Stop being so *** hard on the carpet!

if you look at the other lowes in the area you will just about get the same service since the mgrs are more worry about their big bonus than keeping a customer happy.

Lowes in Norfolk, Virginia - Management would not respond to cashier for a refund on overcharge

I was accadently overcharged and the cashier tried to call for a manager to ok the credit on my card but the manager was too busy on a personal phone call to respond. I had to walk half way of the store to get her to come to the register for the credit. She came, still tallking on the phone, to verify my credit, never saying one word to me. This not the proper way to run a business. Kathy was the manager and Erica was the very nice cashier. Store code:11260-61310-02898.My e-mail is catwoman11668@msn.com

Kathy is my mom and she was on the phone with me because I spilled hot soup all over my face and was crying. Now they fired my mom because of you and we don't have money for soup or burn cream. My mom says we shouldn't hate you, but every time I think about you I stab the furniture.

Lowes in Reston, Virginia - Shoddy installation, Failure to correct

Lowes installed new vinyl flooring in my kitchen and dining room, and new carpeting in two of my upstairs bed rooms and my hallway. The installer came three days late, claiming he had a funeral to go to. OK I can understand that, but he couldn't possibly have been their only installer. I had to take time of from work to be home for this installation. When he finally did show up, supposedly on the day his monther-in-law was buried. He rushed through the job, and got glue on the vinyl flooring in the both the kitchen and the dining room, and did not install the threshold between the two rooms. Nor was the metal triom installed at the doorways. The carpeting upstairs was cut crooked and the baseboards were not reinstalled, and the metal trims were not installed at the doorways. After many, many complaints, and finally going to the store and standing in the store and yelling at the top of my lungs, did I finally get someone out to inspect the job done by their "qualified" installer. The supervisor lamented about the terrible installation job done by the sub-contractor, assuring me he was NOT an employee of Lowes. As such they had no controll over their work, but Lowes stands behind their installation, so it would be fixed or replaced. It never was. That was in the year 2000. I have since sold that house and it is still not corrected. I would never use Lowes for installation for anything, not even a nail. I buy nothing there that costs more than $25.00 now. They got all the money they will ever get out of me. I now shop at HOME DEPOT! By the way this was the Lowes in Kingston, NY.

I used to shop at Lowes until they ripped me off also. I bought some decorative rock to build a flower bed.

I looked this rock up on their website before I went there and I wish I had printed the ad. On the website it showed the rock being one price and after I went there and ordered over 50 of these rocks and they had them loaded in my truck I went to pay for them and I noticed the price was a little steep. I ask the cashier why this bill was so high and as we started going over it I noticed the price of the rocks and I went on to tell her what the price was online and she had me to step off to the side of her register while she called the manager and little did I know that while I was standing there getting pissed because it was taking so long they had contacted their corporate office and had them to change the price before I could call my husband and get him to print the ad for me. And just like you I am no longer a Lowes shopper.

I have been in that store one time in ten years and that was to get a gift card for a family member.

I am now a Home Depot shopper. And this Lowes was in Florence,Kentucky

Lowes should send cs people for training!!!!

I went back to Lowes in Hickory, NC this morning to see if they would honor the bogof on the veggies plants. I bought the plants on Saturday and the sale started today. I still do not have them in the ground yet and would have gladly returned them to save twenty something dollars. Well the return person had to ask the girl behind the customer service counter. That girl should not be working in cs as it was plain as day that I had inconveinced her. It is the little things like this that really make me want to shop at home depot! To that girl.....jobs are hard to come by these days...be thankful you are employed!!!!

You are right! Everyone should be trained to deliver excellent service!

Have you heard of WomenCertified? WomenCertified companies are trained and tested and monitored for excellence in customer service!

Next time try to find a WomenCertified company! Good luck!

Advertisement said $98 whole house install. After we paid $32 for them to come out to do a square footage estimate, thew insisted that we buy there pad. We already had new pad (less then 1 year old. Steps cost extra, plus carpet removal (which we had already removed)....

Like most of the reviewers in this forum, I’ve had both positive and negative experiences with installers and concur that “scams” are perperprated by big box stores and the mom and pop operations. Based on my experience, I’ve learned to take my time and get multiple estimates, sometimes as many as five.

Drives my wife crazy, but at end of the process and a decision is made, both of us are confident in that joint decision. The decision is based on numbers (facts) received from contractors, who quickly figure out we’re not in a hurry and that scam artists usually can’t keep their story straight. Six months ago, we used a mom and pop operation to remove and re-tile approximately 2400 sf of flooring in our home. Very professional installers, with the site manager eyeballing every detail of the installation.

However, I attribute our success to the research we did prior to selecting a vendor and the relationship we established with company BEFORE the job started. Today, I’m having multiple contractors come out and give us estimates on carpet, to include the mom and pop folks who did our tile job. Bottom line, stop complaining and just do your research on potential contractors. It’s your hard earned money, so spend it wisely!

BTW, the Lowe’s the contractor did give me a quote today, and “yes” they inflated the square footage of areas being measured.

I called him on it, stoped him in progress, and politely asked him to leave our home. Three of the quotes are scheduled to come back on 11/5, which we’ll thoroughly review before making a joint financial decision!

See I work at a retail store as well and know that customer service needs too be addressed. My issue is that both of these store employees and top management all had a careless attitudes. All in both of these stores the employees states that they checked out the product and it was not damaged, but when I go in to pick it up, it is clear that no one really looked at the product, box never opened but clearly damaged and the product is damaged inside. DON'T LIE TO SOMEONE AND TELL THEM YOU CHECKED OVER THE ITEM AND IT IS NOT DAMAGED WHEN YOU REALLY DID NOTHING!! Even the managers had the I don't care attitude. Retail means you must have people skills, if you don't, don't do retail.

I have worked in customer service at a retail store for the last 6 years!!
