Lowes in District 2, Virginia - Complaint

My husband and I were at Lowe’s of wise, va about 7pm on Memorial Day. We wanted to purchase carpet from the rolls in the back. We pressed the help button several times. No response, we then searched for a sales person but none could be found. Finally we went to appliances where two men were doing something on the computer. They said they would find someone for us. We went back and waited but no one came. These two men saw us still standing there later but did nothing. I hope you have video so you can see this for yourself. After about 30 minutes we went home. On the way out we looked at the plants. No one had watered them. They were completely wilted. Several people were out there. We couldn’t believe all the people complaining. What has happened to our Lowe’s? I have built two big houses from this store and have never seen it like this.

You should have been home having a barbecue rather than going shopping and expecting retail employees to spend their Holiday working. Stores should close and allow their employees the chance to observe holidays as well.

Lowes online shopping don't do it!!!!

I ordered HVAC ducting on-line and have had nothing but frustration dealing with Lowes online. They sent the wrong items to start and also split up the order to various stores so what did arrive came at different times. I sent back some items using Lowes' return label but have never received a refund. I have called customer service several times about the refund owed. I get put on hold or promised that my refund will be taken care of but nothing happens. I will never shop online with Lowes again. I do not recommend this service.

Lowes in Richmond, Virginia - Extremely Disappointed

I am very disappointed in Lowe's. We went there to see about getting our kitchen remodeled. What started as a small thing ended up being $30,000 plus. It was suppose to be done in two weeks. Our project was started December 3, 2018 and is yet to be completed. We had to go to the store ourselves and pick up most of the supplies. We bought what they said was top of the line cabinets. Four doors had to be replaced as they came with flaws. Then the contractor was careless and did damage to cabinets, etc. He was confronted and lied that he didn't do it. and wait for his convenience between his private jobs. We finally have all the supplies and now have to wait for the contractor to come and finish. Along with that we have to take off work to meet him there. We have complained to the managers several times and they say they will look into it and get back to us and nothing happens. If we ever get our kitchen finished, I will not go back to Lowe's for anything.

Those who go to any one of the big box stores like Lowe's for a remodeling project and allow a subcontractor hired by the store to do the work can often be rudely surprised at the problems encountered and the quality of the work itself as in your case. While 4 cabinet doors not being acceptable is not really unusual---the fault of the cabinet maker---the problems you experienced with the guy Lowe's used for the installation is more often than not a real problem.

I guess, now you know what not to do for the future. The best way to get this kind of work done is to hire, on your own a small contractor not affiliated with a big box store who will work with you on designing what you want done and then helping you pick out the cabinets, etc. from places he has dealt with and knows best. To find a good contractor is the trick and for this you need to talk to everyone you can or know for a recommendation.

Looking on the internet for someone is a hit and miss prospect and could end up even worse than having Lowe's, etc. do the project. Never trust reviews or recommendations from any site on the internet, period. Talk to people who have had similar projects done in the past for people who can and will do quality work.

They are out there, the trick is to find them.

Good luck. As for your current problem with Lowe's, I hope you haven't paid them in total for the project but held back monies until completion, etc.

Cerdit card account in good standing, and they close it WITHOUT my knowledge. When I called to find out they said it was because of a review of my credit history. No matter that my account was in good standing and I had ZERO issues on my account. They have now only hurt my credit even more, and for someone trying to rebuild and restructure, that hurts. Poor business. Never will I ever shop at Lowes again.

I worked for Lowes for 7 years and know that at times the credit card company would close accounts that hadn't been used for some time. They said it was to help dormant accounts from being used without the owner's knowledge. I don't know if that is true, but perhaps it might be?

Why are you complaining about Lowes? You do not have a credit account with Lowes.

Your account is with an independent credit company. My guess is that you didn't bother reading the fine print on the application when you opened the account. The fine print includes the fact that they may from time to time check your credit rating and adjust your credit limits accordingly. If your rating goes up they will increase your limits if it goes down they may decrease you limits or even close your account.

Issuing credit is a business that takes into account the risk of lending you money and how likely you are to pay it back. If you have fallen behind on other loans or the amount you have borrowed elsewhere has jumped and your income hasn't they may feel it is too risky to lend you more.

How likely are you to lend money to someone who may not be able to pay you back? It isn't their fault you got into a situation where your ratings dropped.

Sounds like someone exactly as you describe, can’t or won’t read - probably doesn’t earn enough to justify anyone giving them credit in the first place and now they’ve realized their mistake and the OP is upset and misguidedly targeting Lowe’s - well at least they learned to read the letter that was sent when the account was closed, too bad they didn’t read who actually sent the letter

Last March 2018 I purchased all my appliances and fixtures for my kitchen and master bathroom. on the day they were delivered to my home we were out of town and my son was at home, they put all the stuff in a storage area were they sat and untouched for 10 months until my contractors needed to install them in my newly remodeled kitchen that I spent over 50 thousand dollars on which I purchased everything from Lowe's. Well when the refrigerator was installed and unwrapped there is about six dents in the door, the dishwasher was installed and to find out the hinge on the door is broken. Well Lowe's said I bought them a year ago that they can't do anything to help me, except charge me almost half of what I payed for it to fix it. This is very poor customer service and I will never step another foot in a Lowe's store after being treated like this and spending so much money with this corporation.

If you had followed normal protocol with Delivery. The unit would of been unwrapped and inspected prior to delivery.

If you had asked to leave the product in its original manufacturers packaging. I can clearly see how this is Lowe's fault for following your request and not seeing damage that was clearly covered by the Vendor. Dont buy appliances and let them sit. Unless you purchase a 3-5 year extended protection plan.

the warranty is one year from point of purchase. be better next time.

Why on earth would you expect them to do anything else? The refrigerator has been in YOUR possession for 10 months.

To start with, you should have inspected it when it was delivered and refused it or noted damage at that time. It's not their fault you scheduled delivery when you were out of town.

As it sat in YOUR garage for 10 months who knows what may have hit or bumped the refrigerator and dented it. Sorry but I doubt you will find any business that would replace a damaged product that had been out of their possession for that amount of time.

You don't have an account with Lowes. You have an account with an independent credit company that issues a card for use at Lowes.

Look at your bill for information on where to send your payment. If you have lost your bill, call the customer service number on your.

credit card. They will be able to assist you in sending them a payment.

Lowes in Farmville, Virginia - Missing bumper

Purchased John Deere e170 this spring. It was delivered with missing front bumper. Called customer service about once a month they always say would you like someone to call you. Then the company says they it’s going to be shipped ot you. It’s now December about 7 month later still no bumper. When you call they say that was before my time here do you want someone to call you? No I want the bumper that should have been on the mower I purchased. Please fix it and someone calling me doesn’t fix it.

Tip for the future: Always look over your deliveries before you sign for them. If you find it damaged of parts missing, do not accept delivery and have the delivery drivers take it back.

Don’t listen to the delivery people when they say “call the store and they will bring the missing part out”, they don’t work for Lowe’s and just don’t want to load it back onto the truck.

Believe it or not, the process for replacing the whole machine is easier than getting a missing part. It’s the same for all Big Box retailers.

Lowes in Richmond, Virginia - Flooring Debacle

Lowe's installed 900 sqft of hardwood flooring only to have it almost immediately start squeaking and moving. After months of conversations (mostly ignored), Lowe's/Pro Services sent multiple reps to our house and each one had a different take on the problem (glad I have it all recorded). Regrettably, Lowe's has now determined that they are not at fault (installation) and are offering NO resolution - they have taken the position that it is an environmental issue which is contrary to their own assessments and two independent flooring contractors (both with over 40+ years of flooring experience). AVOID Lowe's/Pro Services for ANY installations, their Pro Services Division lacks integrity and honesty. I had their rep (Casey) on site the week of 11/26/18 and he told me face to face that they were going to offer compensation and agreed that I should have third party contractors review the problem....then he submitted his "finding report" as an environmental issue......Shameful. This issue is FAR from over.
